SALT THERAPY

The Benefits

Participating in halotherapy, or salt therapy, has numerous benefits. Inhaling the salt particles through breathwork can help aid in the relief of respiratory and skin-related issues. The calming salt cave atmosphere also encourages mindfulness, relaxation, and stress reduction. Salt therapy is a holistic healing ritual that works best when it is routinely practiced. Like other holistic wellness practices, such as massage therapy, integrating halotherapy into your wellness routine can enhance the efficacy of its benefits.

Prepare for Your Session

Prepare for Your Session

Before Your Salt Therapy Session

We recommend that you talk to your healthcare provider before participating in halotherapy. The salt cave is a dry atmosphere, and beverages are not allowed inside the cave, please show up for your session hydrated. Personal lockers are available for your belongings, but we recommend leaving valuables at home. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in. Once the session begins, we cannot allow anyone to enter the salt cave as a disruption in the session will hinder the halotherapy benefits.

During Your Salt Therapy Session

You will be asked to remove your shoes before your salt therapy session, please bring clean socks. If needed, socks will be available for purchase. Soft, meditative music will play as you relax in a zero-gravity chair. Sessions are not private unless you book the full salt cave. All sessions are uninterrupted for the duration of the halotherapy. Food and beverages are not allowed inside the salt cave, so please hydrate and eat prior to your salt therapy session.

After Your Salt Therapy Session

It’s normal to experience a dry cough and/or runny nose after a halotherapy session for a short time. Throat lozenges will be available to you as you exit your session. Please drink plenty of water following salt therapy.

THE HALOTHERAPY PROCESS

How does salt therapy work?

Salt therapy is held in a man-made “salt cave” created to replicate salt mines and their healing properties. The cave is low in humidity, with a temperature around 68 degrees or lower (blankets are provided for your session). A halogenerator grinds salt into microscopic particles and releases them into the air. Once inhaled, these salt particles are claimed to absorb irritants such as allergens and toxins from the respiratory system. This breathing process may break up mucus and reduce inflammation, resulting in clearer airways.
